Wireless Home Theater

Wiring is often the most complex part of installing a home theater. They tend to snake all over your floor and the back of your TV, and it takes a lot of work to keep them organized. Even then, wires are prone to physical disturbances that can affect your viewing experience, not to mention pose electrical hazards. If all this seems too much work for you, consider getting a wireless home theater system.

Wireless home theaters are linked via Bluetooth or radio signals. The latter is an older technology and works on the same principle as cordless phones—it uses low-frequency radio signals to transmit information between the components. Bluetooth home theater systems, found in most modern Canadian home theaters, have a much wider range and a lower risk of interference. Each device may have its own remote control, or you may get a single universal remote to control the whole system.

But as convenient as they may seem, wireless home theaters have a few setbacks of their own. For one thing, the system may be disturbed by other wireless devices, such as a cordless phone. You also have to consider room size. Although most Canadian home theaters can accommodate a wireless system, in a particularly large room you will need a central position from which to control everything.

Before choosing a wireless system, make sure the transmissions are all at equal high speeds. Otherwise, you may get common problems such as delayed audio or choppy image quality. If you’re not familiar with theater systems, have it installed by your Canadian home theater dealer to avoid costly mistakes.
