Refurbished Home Theater

Any home theater owner will tell you that home theater equipment doesn’t come cheap. While you can get a home theater in a box (HTIB) package for as low as $300, you’ll need to spend at least $2,000 to get decent DVD quality. If you want to build a home theater without breaking the bank, a refurbished home theater system may be your best alternative. ‘Refurbished’ means that a used product has been restored to factory conditions and approved by Canadian home theater manufacturers for resale. Because they didn’t have to manufacture the entire thing, refurbished home theater equipment can cost up to half as much as brand new ones. Refurbished home theater speakers are particularly cheap because most of the parts are easy to find.

Not all Canadian home theater stores will carry refurbished products, so it’s best to look online if you’re looking to save some money. Just make sure you’re dealing with a credible supplier, as some of them will sell used, unapproved products as refurbished. You can join a Canadian home theater forum or read store review to see which ones are reliable.

When buying discount home theater products, don’t forget to have them tested and make sure they come with a warranty. Just because their used doesn’t mean they should be of lower quality. Have them tested with components similar to yours, so you’ll know what to expect when you take it home.
