Home Theater Speaker Stands

Home theater speaker stands offer a lot more flexibility than traditional wall mount. A wall-mounted speaker can only be moved a fixed distance, making it hard to achieve good acoustic positioning. With a speaker stand, you can place your home theater speakers anywhere and move them as often as needed.

There are different home theater speaker stands designed for various speaker types. Rear and side speaker stands are usually sold in pairs so you can place the corresponding speakers on either side of the TV, as is the standard in Canadian home theater design .Front speaker stands are usually sturdier to accommodate the larger body of your front speaker.

Not all speakers need stands, of course. For example, the subwoofer is placed on the floor in most Canadian home theater setups. Placing it on a stand might affect the direction of the bass and cause unattractive sound distortions. Surround speakers may be mounted on stands, but since there are usually four or more satellites, mounting each one independently will take up a lot of room.

If you need speaker stands but don’t have a large budget, you can save money with a speaker stand set. Many Canadian home theater brands sell them for specific models, but there are also generic speaker stands that work with standard speakers. If you’re not sure which one fits your speaker system, check your user manual for a list of available accessories—the right speaker stand model should be on the list.
