Home Theater Sectional Sofas
What sets home theaters apart from commercial cinemas is the freedom to sit comfortably and accommodate as many people as you wish. That’s why many Canadian home theater owners spend a considerable chunk of their budgets on quality home theater seating. You may have the best speaker system and the biggest flat-screen TV, but a home theater simply isn’t complete without comfy seats.
For most people, the obvious choice is the sectional sofa. Home theater sectional sofas are basically long, couch-style seats separated by armrests. The seats range from two to five in a row, and are usually heavily padded for added warmth and comfort. Home theater sectional seats allow you to accommodate more people without losing the cozy, luxurious feel of your room.
Leather upholstery is no doubt the best choice for sectional sofas, but they tend to be rather expensive. Canadian home theater suppliers usually carry cheaper upholstery materials such as vinyl and faux leather, which come in more colors and patterns. Choose a color that matches your home décor, and look for useful features such as footrests and drink holders.
Most Canadian home theater systems use two to three rows of sectional couches. If you’re following a similar setup, put the back rows on a riser so that the front rows don’t block their view. Also stick to the ideal viewing distance, which is three times the diagonal size of the screen with a maximum viewing angle of 30 degrees.
