Home Theater Curtains
Home theater curtains add to the ‘cinema’ feel of your room while allowing you to completely control your lighting. Although you can use any dark fabric, home theater drapes are specially designed to block out light and absorb sound to maximize your viewing experience. You’ll find a wide range of theater curtains at most Canadian home theater stores, so it’s easy to find one that suits your room.
Curtains can be controlled manually or electronically. The latter definitely makes a better impression, but it will cost you a good deal more and will run up your electricity bills. And when it breaks down, you can’t close them manually—you’ll need to call your Canadian home theater shop for professional service. If your room isn’t that big, it may be more practical to get regular curtains.
Next, you need to choose the right home theater curtain colors. Dark colors naturally work best, but black isn’t your only choice. You can go for darker shades of any other color, as well as solid and patterned fabrics. Make sure they can still keep out light, though. Avoid bright colors especially if you use a projection screen.
Velvet theater curtains offer the best protection and have a nice old-school theater feel. However, they can be a bit expensive and you won’t have many color choices. Most Canadian home theater shops offer cotton curtains for a lower price, but you may need extra layers to block light more effectively.
