Home Theater Couch

Besides high-quality equipment, another important aspect of home theater design is comfortable seating. When you spend thousands of dollars on a flat screen and a 7.1 speaker set, it doesn’t make much sense to pair it with your old couch dragged in from your living room. If you want to complete your home theater setup, home theater seating should be your next investment.

The most common seating type for Canadian home theater systems is the recliner. Recliners give the room a homey yet elegant look, and the individual seating makes viewers a lot more comfortable. Some of them even come with massagers, heaters, and other cool features, although this can add significantly to their price.

If you have a large family or plan to invite people over, home theater sectional seating may be your best choice. Sectional seats resemble a home theater couch, but with armrests separating each seat. This allows you to accommodate more people without eating up floor space. You can find two- to five-seater models at most Canadian home theater shops.

Home theater seat layout is just as important as the seats themselves. To find the ideal viewing distance, take your TV screen’s diagonal size and multiply it by three; the front row should be located the same distance from the screen. If you have three or more rows, as is common in Canadian home theater systems, place the back rows on a riser to give them a better view.
